Unfortunately, I can't offer any telephone support, I will however answer many emails and questions in the MyTinyTV forum. If you want to post questions and comments, please make sure to register first.
Are you running into problems connecting to your TV Server? Click here for a step-by-step guide.
MyTinyTV on your Pocket PC includes documentation, which you can access through any of the Help buttons
available throughout MyTinyTV. The TV Server on your desktop also has online help, which offers assistance with use and configuration of the TV Server. The TV Server help is also available here as a web document (slightly reformatted and without search, index and popup features).
Version 2.08 - *NEW* - December 15, 2008
- Minor changes to correct MyTinyTV on Windows Mobile 6
- Internal buffer overflow in MyTinyTV Pocket PC client when accessing the new web site (it was moved to a new server, from Linux to Windows Server 2008, which uncovered the problem)
- Minor internal corrections.
Version 2.07 - March 6, 2008
- MyTinyTV now also supports Windows Mobile 6
- Download TV listings while TV Server was running would result in "TV Listings are not available" message. TV Listings could only be updated using the "Server > Configure TV Listings Provider" menu command.
Version 2.06 - February 18, 2008
- It's FREE
- AVerMedia AVerTV MPEG Video Capture should now work
- Support for SchedulesDirect.org TV listings
- Improved support for Windows Vista (particularly in the area of User Access Control)
- Not much else, sorry. I try to devote time to MyTinyTV, but ...
Version 2.04 - November 22, 2006
- Additional TV tuner support - Most MPEG-only TV tuners, some additional USB tuners and a few other TV tuners with somewhat unusual architecture are now also supported.
- Support for Windows Vista is now available.
- Configuring satellite/digital cable without a USB-UIRT infrared transmitter is now working correctly. This is for testing/evaluation purposes only, as without a USB-UIRT infrared transmitter, it is not possible to change channels.
- Changes to support low resolution (<92 dpi) in setup application and throughout MyTinyTV.
- Support for TV tuners that use IMediaSample2 and don't implement IMediaSample (correctly?).
- The TV tuner identified as "ATI Rage Theater Video Capture" works again (didn't work in 2.02 and 2.03, but worked in 2.01 and earlier).
Version 2.03
- If the TV listings needed to be updated from our listings server, MyTinyTV would not show listings at all until the TV Server menu command was used to explicitly reload them. Otherwise, it took 4 hours before they would be updated automatically.
- The demo now expires after 14 days instead of just 7.
- The default Server Port was changed from 80 to 81. Even though 80 works in most cases, there are a few router configurations that could cause strange problems with port 80.
- Changed the Startup group entry (that starts the MyTinyTV server, when the user logs on), so it's only created for the currently logged on user.
Version 2.02
- MyTinyTV can now power on/off your TV Server remotely and locally (requires Wake-On-LAN support in BIOS, network adapter, router).
- MyTinyTV can now be configured to automatically log on to Windows using a specified username/password after Windows startup, allowing your system and MyTinyTV to initialize completely without user intervention.
- Minor change to startup processing. On some systems, MyTinyTV initialized before the Windows Firewall initialized completely, causing MyTinyTV initialization to fail.
- 2.01 incorrectly reported finding an unknown router, when it did not find a router at all. If the router doesn't support UPnP or doesn't have UPnP enabled, a message to that effect is shown.
Version 2.01 & 2.00 (Beta)
- Major new release - For detailed information, please visit this page.
- Please note that all users of 1.0 have received a free upgrade to 2.0. We no longer support version 1.0 (of course you may continue to use 1.0, but if you run into a problem with 1.0, you will have to upgrade).
Version 1.04
- It is now possible to select TCPMP as media player instead of Windows Media Player. TCPMP is downloaded and installed separately and is not included with MyTinyTV. TCPMP is available at http://www.corecodec.org/.
- A problem has been corrected that prevented some users from defining their channel lineup, so TV listings were not available.
Version 1.03
- The input source can now be selected from MyTinyTV on your Pocket PC. Many TV tuners support SVideo input and Composite input connectors. These could be used for surveillance cameras, VHS players and other audio/video equipment.
- Under certain circumstances, the TV Configuration Wizard didn't update our servers with the selected channel lineup, so the subsequent downloading of TV listings failed. This has been corrected.
Version 1.02
- Support for many new TV tuners has been added (most TV tuners that require an internal or external connection to a sound card are now supported).
- Pocket PC - full VGA support (640x480).
- Additional speed/bandwidth selection options (on Open dialog, Pocket PC) are now available.
- A new Connection Speed option to automatically determine a safe connection speed.
- The TV Server has been changed to offer a large "Start TV Server" button when started through the Windows Start menu. Many users failed to start the TV Server, causing significant frustration.
Version 1.01
- Support for a few additional TV tuners (KWorld, VStream, without connection to a sound card)
- Additional playback video size option 640x480 for Windows Media Player in VGA mode (on Open dialog, Pocket PC)
Version 1.00
