what happens when everything goes digital?

Hi Frank. Thanks for the quick reply on my Yuan tuner issue. Looks like I will need to buy a new one today. As I went to look for a tuner, it got me thinking about what will happen when all TV signals go digital. Any effect on the Tiny TV business? I know you require analog tuners, but I also am getting my signal through a box and I already have an HD TV. So, is it a question of whether you have a box or something else?
Thanks,
Ed

ATSC support will be available down the road, well before the analog signals go dead. I'm currently working on full digital support in MyTinyTV, as time permits.

i have the hauppauge pvr-1600 atsc tuner, did have the pvr-150 and was using orb, the pvr-1600 doesnt work so well with orb and i found this program and am glad to see upcoming support for atsc, if you have need for a beta tester on atsc i would be happy to try it for you. the orb guys are saying to stream atsc you need a 3 ghz or higher p4? the problem there software has it trys to stream at a high res. for atsc and buffers like mad even through a fast upload and download making it unwatchable, for analogue your program works very well i hope you get the atsc working just as good.
thanks

It is true that you need a somewhat beefier CPU to compress HD down to streamable data, but not THAT much more than for an analog signal. I have it working quite nicely here. There are still quite a few odds and ends to take care of before even thinking of a beta. Once a beta is available, it will be announced here and available for everyone.

Well I would think someone has done this before, but ya never know. For an interm HD-OTA set up: I bought a cheeep Philips SAA7130 capture card ( $16 @ CompUSA) and a Zenith DTT901 DTV convert box with the Feds coupon ($20 @ Circuit City). Had a USBUIRT I'm not currently using on my HTPC. Talk about higher quality on a smaller screen. Works great on H/W 100 Mbs LAN & WiFi @ home or remote. Would be nice if there was allowed a dash key "-" to input the SD sub-channels and it excludes my Linux boxes. If I get some more time I'll see what can be done with VLC getting the output. Oh current sever system is a Asus P4P800-E, Win XP Pro SP3, P4 2.4 GHz, Dual SATA RAID that I use for video editing. Moved a 3.0 GHz HT to the HTPC to fix a blow out, long story, so should be back to that soon. PDA client is HP iPAQ rx3115. Yea, IEEE 802.11b only, but still great video for low bandwidth.
