Support for digital cable or satellite receivers is available in MyTinyTV version 2.0.
Digital cable and satellite receivers are connected to the analog TV tuner in your desktop computer (your TV Server) using Coax, Composite or SVideo cable. In order for the TV Server to change channels, an Infrared Blaster is required. This small device connects to your TV Server and your cable or satellite settop box. It allows MyTinyTV to change the channels on your settop box. Only digital cable and satellite receivers require this special hardware device in order to change channels. Analog cable and antenna systems do not require any special hardware. Unfortunately, digital tuner cards that connect directly to your cable or satellite system, are not yet available (for the US market).
Satellite and digital cable support is included in MyTinyTV 2.0 though an Infrared Blaster. If you need an infrared blaster, you can order one here.
